pc monitor problem

i have Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming which have Dual-link DVI-I / DVI-D.

My monitor has vga port so i use dvi to vga adapter.When i connect my monitor to dual dvi-i (gpu) with

dual dvi-i adapter my screen says no signal but with single dvi-i its adapter its ok.

So i want to know if the problem is the cable and if i lose resolusion from dvi to vga

I hope i make clear whats my problem.Thanks.

Well to start off you should plug the adapter in the DVI-D port (Which is why VGA is also called D-SUB). But since you got it working then you won't lose resolution. You will whoever lose the funtionalities of digital video signal but honestly I haven't notice any difference between VGA and DVI at 1080p with an LCD monitor since most GPUs these days compute in digital and convert it to analog to pass through the cable and the monitor converts it back to digital to display it correctly.

When i put the adapter at the second in the picture with all the pins monitor says no signal but when i put the adapter with 12 pins its okay so the man resolusion i have at dekstop for example its 1920x1200.
