My one screen that I have is connected to my PC through a display-port cable. For some reason my PC recognizes that it is plugged in but the screen stays black and it says there is no signal. I have been running three screens on my PC for over a year and this is the first time it has ever happened. I didn't update anything so I don't understand why one day it works and the next it doesn't. I looked online and it said updating my drivers may fix this but it hasn't for me. Any help would be appreciated.

I do not know if this is will help but here are my specs to my PC:

Processor AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor

Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770

RAM 16 GB

Operating System Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit

Can the monitor be utilized using a different interface (i.e. HDMI or other) - this will verify that the monitor is working properly. You can also try it on another computer.

Can the cable be tested on another PC/Monitor combination - this will verify that the cable is good.

If the cable and the monitor are good, can you utilize only a single monitor (the "bad" monitor)? Does it work then? - This will verify the port on the video card.

I used a HDMI on the monitor and it started working. I bought a new display port cable and it stayed at a black screen. When I tried to only use the bad monitor with the display port it stayed a black screen but when I used the HDMI it worked fine. But for some reason when I plug the display-port cable into the PC the PC makes the noise that something was just plugged in so the cable and port must be working right?

I tested my monitor on another PC while using a display port cable and it worked fine. I think the port on the video card may not be working. Do you think I am going to have to buy another graphics card?
