Pc moves extremely slow with gpu

Hi, I have a gigabyte z97x-sli with the latest bios update and it takes forever to boot with a gpu installed. It would lag even in the bios settings aswell. I have ensured my psu gives the correct amount of power and I have also pulled my cmos battery to reset the bios. The gpu proved to be working as it I have tried it in another mobo

Windows messed up maybe motherboard maybe gpu but first thing that you would try is to reinstall windows

I have solved the problem, in the bios the pcie Gen type was set to gen 3 or auto, I switched it to gen 2 and it worked!
