Hello,
So, I’ve got a problem with my sound.
It started yesterday with low, only background (when watching videos, i could only hear the music, no vocals) sound in my earphones plugged in the front jack. Tried plugging them in the rear motherboard jack. No sound at all. After googling this problem i decided to reinstall the realtek drivers. That didn’t help, so i restored bios default settings.
Now the sound is completely gone. Realtek detects plugged in headphones, butproduces no sound. Maybe the sound card has gone bad?
Any help would be appreciated!

a lot of people have had sound problems since Microsoft did an under the bonnet update to the sound settings , you may even find that headsets don't mute out speakers when you plug them in unless you go into sound settings.

this is what I tell people to do and in most cases it works

1. Go to device manager/ sounds and mic tabs then right click and uninstall drivers even if they dont have a yellow triangle on them. Windows will reinstall them on restart. 2. In sounds/playback tab right click and disable the realtek digital output. just above the icon when using SPEAKERS you should see a green tick in the speaker icon , right click if missing. When you plug in your headphones the icon will go out and if you scroll down you will see a new one for headphones . when you swap between speakers and phones it takes a few seconds to find new device. 3. check properties tab on both headphones .... green jack highlighted and microphone pink jack.
finally at bottom right corner where the speaker icon is change the tab to realtec high def audio , i have my volume at 50% because at 100% when I used headphones on level 2 so 50% makes headphone adjustment more user friendly.

Sadly, none of these methods worked, but I found out, that my headphones are displayed as speakers in the playback section

Do you have the Realtek HD Audio Manager software on your machine?
