Additional Comments: First of all thank you so much in advance to those who help me, this is a great forum and a great community. First time posting but I've read a few threads here and it seems a lot of people are just very knowledgeable and happy to help so thanks a lot. With that said I already have the monitor and graphics card: nvidia geforce gtx 660ti. I also have Corsair Vengeance 8gb of ram I'm just going to buy the parts and have best buy put it together at a discounted price since my wife works there. I know very little about pc's but I love gaming on them. I'm going to get windows and yea silent computers seem nice.

Solution
-If you want to run 2 cards in the future (SLI OR CROSSFIRE), and overclock, then get 750 watts.
-SSD for operating system and programs.
-Black for other games/data/etc.
-Seasonic makes fanastic power supplies.

There's a 55$ savings buying the motherboard and processor from newegg together right now:

The case is personal opinion. If you like it take it.

You guys are amazing! Below budget is great but I have a question. Why not an i7? My wife who knows a little more then me but less then you guys seems to think that I should definitely get one. As always, thanks in advance for helping me out guys.

i7 has hyper-threading which is useless for gaming, but helps with encoding and rendering.

edogawa thanks for the speedy replies. In your opinion or anyone else that would like to comment do you think this system will run higher end games like the witcher 2 on high quality reasonably well? Around what fps do you think? Also I already have the ram so if you could move that money to upgrade one of the other parts you mentioned would you?

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor $219.98

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler $29.98

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard $134.00

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory $64.99

Samsung 840 Pro Series 256 GB 2.5" Solid State Disk X2 $439.98

Antec High Current Gamer 750W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply $69.99

Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer $17.98 $17.98

Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) $89.98 $89.98

Total: $1070.98

Pick a case. I picked a PSU that will allow you to add more, like another graphics card etc. You could go windows 7 pro, add a HDD if you need more space. I put two 840 pros on there run them in raid 0 it will be faster than one 512 samsung 840 pro. You could get an i7 too, I know most people say it is a waste but I see it as much more future proof. Eventually quadcores and up will be cheaper and more used, so a quad core with hyperthreading will stay relevant longer...

Dude don't get windows eight I tried it out for three months and I liked it, a lot! But windows 7 is smoother, and all around better, windows eight is made to be used by touchscreen tablets. I would not recommend windows 8 to someone who is more of a power user.

This build will do well @ 1080P. With dual 840 pros in raid 0, it will be lightning fast. I would recommend if you want to an i7. Minus the ram at 60 bucks its only a 30 dollar upgrade and then get windows 7 pro. You will probably have to upgrade your gpu in two to three years to play all of the newest games at ultra or high. But this build is good.

Everything is fine, save your money for a future GPU upgrade. :D GPU is only thing that could be more powerful, and you can easily upgrade that yourself in future.

You can handle ant game at 1080p well as long as Anti-Aliasing isn't cranked up high.
