Hello, recently i've been having some trouble with my pc. Most of the time, when I switch off my pc, and go to turn in back on again, the system will not boot. The pc turns on, however i have no signal on my monitor and the lights on my keyboard and mouse do not light up, whenever this happens, the digital read out on the motherboard is 71. Doing some research on this code has only brought up very vague answers.
Sometimes just restarting a few times will fix it eventually, but other times, I will have to fiddle around removing the ram, booting it up and then replacing the ram again. The other day, the only thing that seemed to fix it was removing the cpu and then replacing it, although i'm not sure this is what fixed the issue, it seems very random, and when i finally do get it booted up, i get a screen from american megatrends, saying overclocking failed, which then directs me to the bios. (I have not even overclocked anything).
I know this might be very vague, and the issue seems to occur at random with no set method to resolve, but any assistance would be appreciated. Others have mentioned it could be down to bad ram, however I tested it with my old ram which previously worked perfectly fine, and the same issue occurred. Would a bios update possibly help? I checked the asus website and the latest bios is dated from before i built the pc. My specs are as follows- i7 4790k Strix GTX 980 16gb corsair vengeance 2400mhz (2x8gb) Asus maximus vi hero motherboard Thanks!
