Question PC not displaying video and its not the GPU

Recently i have tried to rebuild an old PC for a friend, when is put it all together there was no image being displayed. I have tried a diffenet GPU (GTX 1050 ti) which i know for a fact works and a diffenet monitor to check.please can you come up with ways to test which parts dont work thanks
