Got in a nice upgrade to my internet today from 70mbs to 500mbs. But my gaming PC seems to only go up to a max of 70mbs whilst both my laptop and phone are getting around 200mbs.

In preparation for today I got new cat7 cables and a new 5ghz wifi dongle just incase they didn't work right.

I try set my PC's ethernet speed and duplex to full 1gbs duplex but then my internet stops working. They are connected through powerlines but I made sure they are also 1gbs and both cabled with cat 7s.

Even still, the dongle I got whilst is getting slightly better speeds than the ethernet connection is still nowhere close to the speeds my laptop and phone are getting.

I'm on windows 10 and got a decently mid tier gaming PC

The Dongle: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Foktech-80..._1_4?keywords=5ghz+wifi&qid=1583662964&sr=8-4

Leave your speed on your wired connections at AUTO. Forcing them is never the right answer.
Those "cat7" cables, are nothing but propaganda, IMO. Get some round cat5e cables. Those cables are 32AWG (32 gauge) wire. That does not meet spec. Get some 24AWG cat5e 100% copper cables. -- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Monoprice-Cat5e-Ethernet-Patch-Cable/dp/B008F0XQXK/
Until you can leave your speed on AUTO and get 1000 connection, you won't get the speed you are paying for.
