So recently I’ve been getting the idea that my PC is under-preforming, as my FPS in games seems to be lower than it should be.

GPU: GTX 1050 2gb,
CPU: I5 7500
RAM: 8GB
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS PRIME H270-PLUS.

There’s only two games I play at the moment: Overwatch and Fortnite.

Overwatch runs at around 80 no matter what settings I put it on. I changed my FPS cap multiple times, still no difference, VSYNC is off as well. The temperatures seem to completely fine.

Fortnite runs at 80, and like Overwatch no matter what settings I put it on it runs around 80.

My friends say I should be getting around 100 FPS in most games with medium/high settings, so I’m unsure of what’s wrong.

I’ve checked the temperatures and updated my drivers, I close all background applications, so I’m unsure of what’s going on.

Your pc should be getting more frames considering i have a ryzen 5 1600 and a gtx 650 ti boost. I get about 80 on epic settings (upgrading gpu lol)
Well you definitely meet the minimum system requirements for both games. I'm assuming you are on Windows 10. What else do you have installed/running on the system? Try ending/disabling any background apps you don't need to have running. If you are using a 3rd party anti-virus/firewall, disable it while you are gaming.

Yes, I am running Windows 10, there aren't any background things running, as I went into setting and turned all those off. I have no anti-viruses or firewalls running, and I even tried setting my power settings to high performance, which made no difference. I really am unsure of whats going on.
