I recently (6 months ago) built my second pc. It was working fine until about a week ago. I came home to it off and the DRAM and CPU light flashing back and forth. I was really confused and took it to a computer repair shop. They said it was either the mobo or CPU but I just think they made that up. Also, I don't know how it could just die. Anyway, when I got it home and plugged it in, it was doing something different. This time it is flashing on just the DRAM light. I did some investigating. I did one stick at a time and realized that when the RAM was in the 1st and 3rd slot it flashed on just the RAM light but when it was in the 2nd and 4th slot it flashed between both the CPU and RAM. I am very confused right now and was hoping to have my pc working soon because my school is online and I need it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! (Also I'm new to this forum)

Solution
Your RAM sticks should be located in the 2nd and 4th slots, DIMM_A2 & DIMM_B2.
Have you tried clearing the CMOS?
Have you tried booting with no drives connected to see if you can get into the BIOS?
