Hi, my PC is not posting since a rebuild with upgrades. Their is no display.
My guess is something got broken but I don't know what......

Spec
Asus P8P67 motherboard,
Intel CPU,
Corsair non+ecc ram (4x4GB),
Enermax Galaxy 850w PSU,
Asus graphics card,

The upgrades-changes
The upgrade was a new case (Phantek Ethoo) and Corsair H100i cooler along with increasing ram. Mainly because the PC was overheating and due to a huge amount of dust. Due to this, I also took the PSU casing off and used compressed air to clear off the dust.

First problems
I made several mistakes with the rebuild as I mention below.

1) My first mistake was I had no display because I forgot to plug in the 2x power connectors to the GPU (I heard windows boot through the plugged in speakers). After taking the pc apart I realised and corrected my mistake. I tested the build, had a display, I was in bios (CPU temp was great) so I switched pc off by holding the power button and started connecting up additional hard drives etc.

2) I then had a problem with the DRAM led constantly red (so went to replace the the ram after clearing cmos and using the memok function on the board). I later sprayed compressed air on the motherboard and reseated the ram, the DRAM led now goes off after a sec but I believe this issue was caused by dust or incorrectly seated ram.

The current problem!
The pc has no display as has been the case since the rebuild with the exception of directly after (1).
The motherboard shows power, the DRAM led flashes on and then goes off, and the fans continuously spin. The connected keyboard has power (but caps lock doesn't turn function on-off). No audible beeps or other lights showing.

Strangely when powering on, the GPU fans on occasion stayed still, (this appears to have sorted itself I believe by reinserting the power cable) but it should of been consistent.

Troubleshooting
Removed from case to ensure no shorts.
Cleared cmos by removing battery and also using jumpers.
Plugged in motherboard speaker to help with troubleshooting.
Checked cables are all plugged in and seated correctly.
Tried another GPU (not conclusive as it may of been dead).

Strange symtoms
With the motherboard speaker plugged in and no ram, the PC beeps to indicate no ram so for this reason I think its not the motherboard. However with the ram in, removing the hard drive, graphics card there are no beeps and no additional lights on the board to inidicate a problem.
I thought it should beep or a led would show.....

As I mentioned the GPU fans didn't always spin. So I was thinking maybe i messed up the PSU when cleaning it... I was so careful though... It's all inconsistent and weird.

Thank you for all your help!!

Thanks for your advise. I've already tried my original working ram (two sticks) in the correct blue slots, and I've also tested in the black slots. This is together in pairs and one at a time. I then bought and added another set on the basis the issue could of been the ram..... I think I can rule out the ram,
However, I don't know if the dram led should come on and stright off (its on for a second)?
But according to the Asus mobo manual, the motherboard has the diagnostic led when posting. The only one that goes on-off is the ram. All others stay off (including when hard drive and gpu is plugged in and also when it's not connected).

This is why I added a mobo speaker. It beeps with no ram, but doesn't beep any other time (including when no gpu and hard drive is inserted).

Is the mobo faulty?

It's an intel I3 or I5. I bought it just over three years ago. It was working fine with the motherboard.
I have not removed the cpu, only the cpu cooler from the original stock one to the Corsair H100i.

In order to do this. I loosened the 4 clips on the cooler and pulled it away from the motherboard. I used recommended cleaner to wipe off the thermal paste and added new paste (possibly too much), before putting the new cooler on.

I connected the two corsair fans to the Y cable, then plugged this to the H100i. I connected the sata power cable, and then finally plugged the H100i 4 pin into the 3 pin CPU fan header.

I have heard of issues with the H100i backplate causing my symptoms, however (it did come on for a sec).
As it did come on, can I completely rule out cooler shorting or the possibility of using too much thermal paste?
