[SOLVED] PC not posting with two sticks of RAM installed

hi everyone,

i received my new ram today I've upgraded from 2 sticks of 8gb (16GB) to two sticks of 16gb(32gb) 2400mhz to 3200mhz and it wont post with them installed.

to mitigate any quick fixes I have done the following.

1. updated bios
2. cleared the cmos
3. installed one stick at a time to insure they both work, the pc will work in any mem slot with one stick but seems to hesitate when booting.

my system is a i7-700k with a gigabyte ga-z270x ultra gaming
old ram- vengeance LPX DDR4 2400MHZ 2X8GB
GPU GTX 1070

ive just managed to solve this by putting the sticks in slot 2 and 4 can anyone elude to why this wouldn't work in slot 1 and 3

Because they are supposed to be installed in slots 2 & 4

The motherboard instructions will tell you that when running 2 sticks they should be in 2 & 4.
