I built a computer about a month ago and everything was working perfectly. Last night I shut it down because my lights were flickering in my house (I have pc hooked up to a UPS) this morning the computer will not turn on. There is power to MB because the red standby button is on, and will not turn on from case button or the power button on MB. Amazon is sending me a new MB, is there anything else I should be concerned with.

That ups must not be very good if your comp was effected by flickering lights -- power fluctuations. Is there anything else that is connected to the outside power and then connected to your comp by-passing the UPS?

Everything is hooked up through the UPS, network included. I tried plugging into different outlet ... Still nothing. Also tried different power supply... Nothing. Was the UPS a bad idea in an ungrounded outlet (house is old). Do you think new Mb will fix?

Would have been safer in a grounded outlet. Without the ground some if not all the fluctuations were probably passed to your comp and especially your other devices too.

Edit:
I bet you have some devices that were plugged into the UPS that were only surge protected, No? Most battery backups have both surge & battery outlets. And these devices were plugged into your comp?
