PC not shutting completely down?

After I downloaded and installed the new Windows 10 Creators Fall update. I shut down my PC, by clicking on the Shut Down button at the Windows tab. But when I start up my PC the next day, all my applications from the last time are still running, it's like my PC never shut down completely. Is this maybe a new Windows feature or is there something wrong with my shutdown settings?

Solution
That's rather strange but check your power settings. http://www.tomsitpro.com/articles/windows-10-sleep-hibernation-settings,2-4.html and make sure hibernate is disabled and sleep is set to whatever you want it to be. Check power options on network adapters and on usb. Make sure wake timers are disabled. But if you're shutting down from a menu, not sure how it's misinterpreting that unless something is waking it up and it's going back to sleep on its own later on.
