PC not turning on after contacting headphones to USB port

Hi everyone,
I was about to connect headphones to the front audio port (3 mm), but I missed it out of distraction and just made contact (didn't push it through, just contact) two times with the front USB port. I heard a noise the first time (similar to when you turn on or of an audio system and in the second the CPU turned off).

Do you have any clue of what migth have happened to the CPU?. I'll start tomorrow by cleaning the huge amount lf dust it has collected since months, but any extra lead migth help.

well, something definitely shorted out
either mobo, psu or any other hardware, feel free to take it apart and test with friends each componnent and replace what got shorted

The next day the computer is working fine. Is this a common issue??
