Hello,

I upgraded my motherboard and now my PC won't wake up from hibernation if I leave it for more than 10 minutes or so. For some reason even the Power and Reset buttons don't do a thing and I have to unplug it several times until I can start it again. What could be causing this issue?

I read it might be that the computer switches off USB ports to save power, so I unchecked that option in the Device manager, but that didn't solve it. And that wouldn't explain why the Power button doesn't work either.

EDIT: full system info as follows:
MB: Gigabyte B760 DS3H DDR5
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x16GB 6000MHz
GeForce 1060
3 SATA SSD/HDD
650W PSU
Windows 11 (upgraded today but the issue was already present under Win10)

Did you completely disable hibernation? It's never worked correctly under Windows (only use Sleep mode).

More info on doing it can be found here:

When you swapped the motherboard, did you reinstall the OS? If Not, you should reinstall Windows 11 after recreating your bootable USB installer for the OS. you will need to manually install all driver s relevant to your platform in an elevated command.

650W PSU
650W is the advertised wattage of the unit. What is the make and model of your PSU?

No, I wanted to use it to save energy and actually had to enable it . It worked perfectly until I upgraded the motherboard.

I didn't. I was hoping to avoid the hassle.

It's a Corsair TX650.

By the way this guy here seems to have a very similar issue.

No I didn't.

If I was given a hint as to whether it was the PSU or the motherboard, I might try a replacement - but buying both would be more than the value of the system. In my gut, I feel it is a capacitor that has failed somewhere, but that's just a gut.

Thanks for chiming in. I'm at a loss, it was working fine until 2 days ago.

Oh well. I tried to update the BIOS as I thought that might solve the issue, but right before it started it said the computer needed to restart. I clicked yes and weirdly it shut down at once, as though someone pulled the plug. Now it won't turn back on. I tried resetting the BIOS by pushing the reset sw button on the motherboard, I also did the unplug/wave dead chicken thing several times, but it won't do, the PC won't come back on...
