Console vs. PC

I know this would be a broad discussion area so I narrowed it down so that it can be applied to my situation.

I don't really mind about the cost of the console/PC itself.
My main concerns are:
- which has better graphics
- is keyboard or a controller better - considering PS3 controller for PC gaming - will that be good?
- how future proof are both relatively?
- how much bandwidth does PC online gaming take up? I have a cap of 30GB of internet usage a month at 4mbps....is that good enough for the PC??

Extra Question:
I know there isnt much said about the new PS4 to release in December but would a PC of about 1300 USD outperform it and by how far do you think? The PS4 is rumored to have a 300 USD graphics card and a 3.1 GHz procesor....

Thanks for all your help!!

There really isn't a Console vs PC as many would like to think there is. If you can afford it, it's nice to have both as it's all about exclusive games. Sony has only games that you can get on their system, well as the other two main platform holders Nintendo and Microsoft. But with that being said....

My main concerns are:
- which has better graphics (This is very dependent on what you end up building or buying but generally PC always has bleeding edge graphics )
- is keyboard or a controller better - considering PS3 controller for PC gaming - will that be good? (This I think is really personal preference. Personally keyboard/mouse works much better for me but it may not suit you as well )
- how future proof are both relatively? (Things change in the PC world fairly quickly, but it has slowed down quite a bit. This is true with consoles as well. XB360 is around 8 years old now? so not really future proof but a lot slower upgrade cycle. )
- how much bandwidth does PC online gaming take up? I have a cap of 30GB of internet usage a month at 4mbps....is that good enough for the PC?? (It should be sufficient but it will all depend on what you are playing and how much time you are playing. )

(From everything I've seen on news sites, it looks like the PS4/XB720 are both going for a AMD Quad with AMD Radeon 6670 equivalent video device, and 1 gig of ram so a 1k+ computer should easily outmatch it. You do realize that you are trying to compare a general computing device to one specifically designed to run video games ? It's almost like the Console vs PC comparison.

if your not spending huge amounts of time at it you wont really want to spend lots of money on hardware that will be dated in 6 months and obsolete in 2 years then get the console... problem is in 2 years the console is gonna be replaced also lol... but at least that next 1 will last about as long as this 1... but the pc would still age fast.
you can also get a mouse/keyboard for consoles so you can get all the advantages that they bring... they are a little pricey but give definite advantages. with out any of the negatives of having to update your drivers although sony and ms do update the gfx drivers time to time. but they do it silently... so yeah if your hyper casual then make the smarter choice in this instance. get a console.

I agree with this but you may want to consider that the new consoles will be coming out withing a year or so, which may make a nice new custom build pc just slightly more appealing and future proof. but (future proof + technology = impossible battle)

Pc all the way. with the rumored specs of the next console, theyll be based on like 4 or 5 year old technology or something like that

So the only thing the PS4 would really 'beat' the PC in is future-proofing.
But I see computers with really old graphic cards etc. (about 4 years) and they still play games today....not all of them like Battlefield but its not like they're completely alienated from the world of PC gaming.
