Then your RX 480 is a good idea. A single one of them will maxed out everything. It's not a weak card, it's as strong as a 390x and stronger than a 970 GTX.
Two of them will maxed out every games at 144Hz. I will go for it since it will be cheaper and more available than any high-end cards. Just for example, it's impossible to find a good 1080 or 1070 GTX right now. It will be easier to buy mainstream cards for sure.
Ok bc this is my first pc build and my goal is to play games on day 1 so when you said I need to wait for CF to run the game it makes no sense bc if its hooked up shouldnt everything run day 1???!!!!
When I am saying day, I am talking about day one games release. Like if the new Call of Duty is released tomorrow, then you might wait a couple of days before CF is implemented.
AMD is quite fast lately, they released the CF profile for Mirror Edge Catalyst around the same day the game was released.
But like I am saying, this doesn't concerns you at all since one card max out everything at 1080p. The impact is going to be minimal.
You are going to be able to play every game at 60FPS minimum without an issue.
In CF, you will be able to play ,mostly any games at 144Hz.
