I'd also recommend either the Seagate Barracuda or the WD hard drives. If you wanted, though, you can try to go for an SSD instead. They are much faster, making your computer feels overall much snappier, but they don't have the same capacity as traditional hard drives.

As for the power supply unit, though, I wouldn't recommend the Raidmax. There are probably better units available for a similar price. For example, I'd look at an EVGA 500W unit, since it will probably fulfill your needs, be pretty good quality, and be quite cheap.

Finally, there would be no issues at all changing to a 750 Ti, since it consumes even less power than the 650 Ti. The R9 280 that was recommended is also a great card, but you will definitely want a...
You won't need more than 500W (and you won't have to worry about Amps with those GPUs,) but there's this really cheap one here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817152036&cm_re=RAIDMAX_HYBRID_2_RX-730SS-_-17-152-036-_-Product

I personally bought the 730 Watt one, and it's a weird hybrid-modular one, but it works just fine.

As for hard drive the Seagate Barracuda drives are cheap and high in capacity, but if you want faster performance and don't mind spending some extra cash there are some Western Digital Blue 1TB or Western Digital Black 1TB/2TB/etc drives that are pretty good.

Also, the 750 Ti is really good, but if you don't mind AMD and using some more power, the R9 280 is better for emulators (if you're into that sort of thing) and generally performs better. There are some good 1Ghz models (like MSI) that sell for just $20 more than the 750 Ti, and it would double/triple your performance.

Raidmax PSUs are of a very poor quality, they use bad OEMs and often destroy systems.

Do NOT use Raidmax! use reputable brands such as Corsair, XFX, Seasonic, Cooler Master to buy your PSU.

This is what happens when you use a Raidmax PSU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ezk9OA7aKOE

(Note this video USES Raidmax PSU)

Don't forget Antec PSU's. The VP series is very affordable and under-rated for power.

I dunno, guys, I've only used Raidmax all my life and I've never had a blowout. Maybe that's because the ones I buy are protected against over voltage/temps/watts and because I give myself enough headroom for wattage. 😛

Well maybe your just lucky 😛

All of the Raidmaxes I ever own blew up on me (like 7-8 raidmaxes?). Fried a few components and such.

It was then I found out that Raidmax was a brand that uses bad OEMs lol

Cheaper PSU's can also work, yes. In particular, if you buy higher-wattage units, like the 750W one, you are less likely to stress it, which causes it to fail. But in the end, if we can get a PSU from a brand that is known to make higher quality PSU's for about the same money, I'd recommend going that route instead,

thanks for the help
