So I have been using my current computer for over 4 years and i was thinking that it was about time to get a new one, but since I'm not he best with hardware I was wondering if anyone would help me by telling me if the parts I plan on getting are compatible with each other (I will be building my own PC with some help).
Parts I plan on getting (updated)
Case: Cooler Master Case Elite 431 K ATX Black
MoBo: Asus P8H77-M PRO H77 Ivy Bridge S1155/PCIE3/USB3/RAID uATX M
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor- Retail
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Superclocked
RAM: 4GB Corsair DDR3 PC1600 9-9-9-24 Memory x2
HDD: TOSHIBA 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA3 - 6.0Gb/s
Optical: Samsung DVDRW SH-222AB BEBE 22X SATA Black
PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Power Supply V
I'm hoping this PC will be able to last me at least 3 years. If you would recommend changing anything please keep in mind I would like it to be as cheap as possible :)

Thanks in advance.

If you use the stickied form http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/353572-31-build-upgrade-advice (How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice) we could give you better answers. Knowing your needs, budget, and location is extremely helpful.

Just from a generic standpoint without knowing these things, your 3770 is probably overkill, you should be using 2x4 GB RAM instead of a single stick of 8 GB, you need a better power supply (not more power, but a reputably manufactured one).

is there really any reason to get an i5 over i7, apart from being cheaper? i might also be editing videos so i think an i7 would be better.
also would a Corsair Builder Series CX 600 Power Supply V2 be a better option for PSU?

As butremor guessed I am trying to build a gaming PC, but with that being said I will also be doing some video editing.
As for budget, I'm trying not to spend over 1,200 euro.
I can't really buy anything online since i don't have a visa or debt card.
If it would help you my location is Malta.

Ah, then we'll have to give you simply very general advice - tough without knowing the prices and availability of parts at the places you can purchase from.

The 3770 is better than the 3570, but unless you're doing really heavy duty video editing, the 3570 or 3470 or 3350p, it's going to be a small benefit. The savings would allow you to get a better PSU and upgrade your GPU, which are far better uses of those extra funds unless we're taking serious rendering or statistical applications (and the like).

Do any of the stores that you would use have a web presence that would give us an idea of prices and availability where you are? For example, I see Klikk in Birkikara carries some Corsair power supplies and has the i5-3470 for €130 cheaper than the i7-3770.

So here are the two websites I am going to get the parts from:
http://www.scanmalta.com/
http://www.ultramalta.com/
Since you recommended I get 2x4GB ram I chose 4GB Corsair DDR3 PC1600 9-9-9-24 Memory from the scan website.
As for editing I don't think I will be doing anything spectacular like 3D models and such, only montages/letsplays.
