PC performing worse than expected

Hi, I built my own PC a while back and with the components I used I had hoped that it would be extremely fast. While it is quite fast, it just isn’t performing as well as I’d expect it to with the components I have. I’m sorry that this is such a vague question, but I’m hoping someone may have a solution for me.

Here are the specs:
OS: Windows 10
CPU: Intel I5-7600k 3.80 GHz
Memory: 16 gb DDR4
Storage: 512 GB ssd and 2 TB hdd
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080
