Hi
I can't start my PC. The mobo is an Asus Z-97 Pro. I've had this computer since 2014. It's a big gaming PC.

When I turn on its power, a light comes on, the Q code goes from 00 to 16, then it turns off and repeats that (seemingly endlessly?) so each cycle is only something like 3, 4 or 5 seconds long. As it is right now, I don't think it's even going to be possible to get into the BIOS.

I recently had a problem where I was getting an A2 code after changing the CMOS battery (discussed here, on Tom's Hardware), and I fixed it by defining the SSD as what to boot from in the BIOS. I may not have used the computer since then (thinking it was all fixed and ok) , and then turned it on this morning and had this cycling problem but with the Q code 16.

The computer had not been used for some time, since I fixed the A2 code problem.

Any tips, help would be much appreciated.

Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:

Motherboard:
Ram:

Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.

Try and work with one stick of ram in either of the ram slots.
Thanks for the tip re one stick of RAM. I'll try it.
