My pc keeps shutting itself off, when i try to boot my pc it does for about 2 seconds than turns itself off and on again and off and on again until it shuts off completely, without any peripherals it boots fine about 95% of the time but when it is booted fine i try to plug in my peripherals and everhthing is still fine until i plug in my ducky keyboard when i do (doesnt matter which usb port) it completely shuts off instantly, different laptops or pc the kb works (sometimes) and when i try a different keyboard the pc boots fine but then only works for about 15-20 minutes on videogames, if im not playing videogames then it will work, before again shutting itself of and on again can anybody help me with this its getting frustrating im running Windows 10 version 22h2
My pc specs
I5 9600K
RTX 2060 super
16gb ddr4 3200mhz
Gigabyte z390 gaming X
Coolermaster MWE 750W gold+
samsung ssd 500gb
hdd 2tb
Never overclocked it and never had power issues before but now ever since 1.5-2 weeks ive had this problem and i havent installed or deleted anything. Could anyone drop any tips?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Gigabyte z390 gaming X
What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard?

Coolermaster MWE 750W gold+
How old is the PSU?

If you suspect the PSU to be the root of your issues, source(borrow, not buy) a reliably built PSU that can deliver 550W of power to the entire system.

without any peripherals it boots fine about 95% of the time
What does the remaining 5% have?

Thanks! I honestly have no clue what bios version im on ive never updated or changed anything except XMP. I wouldnt know where to borrow a PSU. The remaining 5% is it wont startup and it will do that start stop thing again, where it boots for 2 seconds and then shuts off and tries to reboot itself again. The entire system is 5 years old btw

CPU-Z will identify your motherboard and the current bios level.
Go to the motherboard web site and check the bios updates and what issues they fix.
If you see a fix that might be relevant, plan on updating the bios.
Updating a bios is a bit scary the first time. Patience is key, nothing seems to be going on, but do not interrupt the process.

Run memtest86+
It boots from a usb stick and does not use windows.
You can download it here:

If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your ram should be ok.

Running several more passes will sometimes uncover an issue, but it takes more time.
Probably not worth it unless you really suspect a ram issue.

Some motherboards have an memtest option in the bios.

If you think the psu is the problem, order a replacement from a store with a good return policy.
Be prepared to pay a 15% restocking charge if you need to return the unit.
