Question PC Power Supply Build Advice

Hi. I have done a custom PC build using PCPartPicker and it rates the overall build power consumption at 601W. I have learnt by going through other threads that you want a power supply that will cover for more power than the build is rated for due to power spikes from the CPU and GPU however will the 850w Power Supply I have selected be enough (build below):

850w is plenty for that build. Just make sure that card will fit into that case because it doesn't fit into the Phanteks 300.

A 3060 is PLENTY for that resolution.
And an 850 watt is plenty for either gpu.

Hey there,

I'd be going with a strong 850w, like a Corsair RMx 850w for your build. Well able to handle transient power spikes of RTX GPU's and strong enough for some slightly more power hungry parts down the line. Stellar PSU for OC. Very strong.

Lesson two, games become more intense to run than the games that are out today. For instance Deadspace remake that came out today recommends a 3060-70 for 30 fps at 1440p. This means you will barley get 55-65 at 1080p. Buy the best graphics card you can with your budget so games don't become unplayable in a year or two.

Well, yes and no

If someone is gaming at 1080p, the 3070ti guarantees Ultra settings, with room to spare for most games. One of the benefits of Nvidia GPU's is DLDSR. This quite a good option. For example, I've a 3060ti, which similarly is plenty for 1080p Ultra, and really good 1440p game play. Simply allow DSR factors in NVCP, choose higher res (even up to 4k) and watch how your GPU performs at higher res. DLDSR makes games look better after scaling, as long as the GPU has enough headroom. It really works well.

3070ti Gives that option.

I certainly don't disagree, and if he could afford it I'd say "Get a 4090!", but he seemed to indicate that he was on a semi-restrictive budget, and when you're trying to save some caps, you can make some sacrifices in the GPU department at 1080p. That's all I'm sayin.

As far as your question goes, an 850 watt PSU would be a great decision with that build, however, I question getting one of Be Quiets entry level PSUs. I would sped a bit more on your PSU(Corsair RMX or RM) and a bit less on the GPU. Personally with your budget I would do something like this:
