Soo today when I got home my pc was on but nothing was happening. I turned it off from the outlet because turn it off with the power button, then whitout the power cable I pressed the power button to stop static electricity. Aftet that i connected the cables back on and pushed the power button. I bolt off electricity came out of the power supply on the back of the computer and all the outlets on the house went off. Now the power supply smells like burned and if i try to turn on the pc again all the outlets go down and i have to turn them on in the braker box. What do you think happened? And most importantly do you guys think that my hard drive and other things are also burned?

Solution
It would depend on how good your power supply is I think. Many of the new ones have overvolt protection. Frankly if your power supply fried out right before your eyes, I think it is not such a good one.

However, the reality is, it's impossible to tell if it fried your system until you get a new power supply to test it. Hope is for you that it did not.
