So my friend gave me his old GTX 970 since i wanted to upgrade from my GTX 1050.

I knew my CX430 wouldnt handle it very well, cause EVGA recommends 500w at minimum, but i wanted to test it out anyway to see if it worked. I booted up with the 970 and it made an insane high pitched noise and no display. Then i got back to the 1050 but now it doesnt show any display.

I bought a new PSU (VS600) but it doesnt seem to work anyway. Maybe its the motherboards fault? Maybe I damaged the PCI-e slot? Any help would be appreciated

Reset CMOS with your old GPU inside. Test different 16x PCI-E slots if you have them, with the known good card.
You are supposed to plug the power cables into the new GPUs for them to work properly.
However, if all this is strange to you, take it to a PC shop and have them do it.
