I have a strange problem that I have encountered when making my friends PC.

I recently purchased a new motherboard for it as it did not work before, i had just installed all the components and hooked a monitor up to the DVI output however when i switched
it on all i had was the monitor flash on every 2 seconds saying No Video Detected. I have since switched the RAM, CPU, CPU Cooler and GPU, i switched to on board video (DVI) and i still have the same problem. could it be another faulty motherboard?

A link to the video of the problem recorded by me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCu1EeXlieA

simplify and analyze. remove everything except for the CPU/fan and PSU - Verify all of your power connections. Perhaps leave the video card if you do not have on-board. hook up to video - see what occurs - it should post with an error of no memory. Add a stick of memory - test - repeat for all memory. Connect Video card if you had onboard - and test. Connect hard drive and test.

You are trying to isolate any components that may have an error.

Many people will put a PC together all at one step - and it CAN work - but it does not provide any validation on the individual parts.

I have taken out the ram and tested it, the gpu worked before , il try and see what the problem is by going part by part.

Since you tried it with the onboard graphics and had the same results i'd say that the cpu has the issue. Why did you have to replace the motherboard? If the first one died it is probable that it took the cpu for the ride as well.

Yeah the mobo couldnt even boot last time, ive have tested with 2 CPUs though and still the same problem.
