So my laptop (Acer aspire es1-512-C04G) has black spots all over its display. So i bought an LED Monitor (acer k202HQL) that has only a VGA port. I had to buy an HDMI to VGA cable (https://www.amazon.co.uk/LogiLink-HDMI-VGA-Audio-Cable/...) because my laptop doesn't have a VGA port. The cable and monitor works fine with another laptop in my house but with my laptop it works for 10-15 seconds then it disconnects saying "Cable Not Connected" and then connects back again doing the same thing after 10-15 seconds. I tried everything I fix i found on internet but it didn't work. Any suggestions or potential fixes?

P.S: My operating system it's Windows 10 64 Bit

Ok here's a scenario for you:
I hooked up an HDMI cable from my PC to my TV and it would not work, I replaced the HDMI cable with another and all worked well. So I decided to check the HDMI cable that didn't work on another set up and it worked. Why did it work on one set up and not the other? I have no ideal. I figure it was a faulty cable and threw it away.
So my point is maybe try another cable or adapter.

Are you able to see whats on the display on the laptop at all? If so, make sure to enable dual monitor usage in the operating system software. In Windows 10 go to settings then to display. If you have a graphics card there may be a setting in its settings.

Here are some trouble shooting steps for just HDMI but you can apply...
