Hi, everyone.

This is my first post, so if there is something missing, let me know.

Well, it's been 8 months since I bought a new build. Today it is like this:

MotherBoard Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0
CPU AMD FX - 6300 Black edition 3.5Ghz AM3+
RAM Hyper - X Kingston 8GB 1333Mhz DDR3
HD Samsung 1 TB SATA
GPU GT-430 EVGA

The only things from the old build are my HD and my GPU.

After 4~5 months I was using this new build, it started to freeze randomly. It does not have a pattern, can happen when I'm playing a game, browsing the Internet, or if I left it idle.
I already search it everywhere and tried lots of things to try to reproduce or fix this freezes.

I already runned tests and my RAM is ok, so is my CPU and my GPU. The only thing I didn't test it yet, was my HD and my motherboard (is there a way to test the motherboard? :S )

The only thing that made the freezes stop for a week or so, is when a totally format the HD.
I tought, well, It must be my HD begging for retirement. But before I go look for a new HD, I want to know your opinion.

Hi, masterdam17. Thanks for your answer.

I runned all the tests, except the advanced test, cause it gives an error message saying it couldn't erase the data, something like that. But the other tests said that it was all ok, what I find really strange.
And the option you said before, the fix all errors test, is only available to seagate and another brand of HD, not Samsung. :/

One thing I think its odd, is that the program is showing 2 HDs after it scan my system. The first one is my Samsung HD and the other one I don't know from where it is. I just have one HD in my build.
But there is a space not allocated, maybe it's this space that is showing.

I have two partitions and another one unallocated.
Now, something really strange happened. I was installing some motherboard's softwares and suddenly I got a blue screen D: .
I'm trying to repair my windows boot, but I think I'll have to format my HD again :~

I don't think it's a memory problem, cause I already runned a mem test, twice, and everything was ok. But I need to highlight a thing, the hyper x mem is not supported by my motherboard but it comes with a MemOk function that should not give me any problem.
As I said before, I just had these freeze problems after 4~5 months I started to use my new build.

I know this thread is old, but I didn't give any feedback.

Actually, the problem was a driver incompatibility of a cd player I had installed.
I don't use cds/dvds/blurays on my pc, so I just remove it and the freezes stopped.

So, If pc is freezing randomly, try updating the drivers. If it keeps freezing, try to remove each hardware piece, one by one, and substitute it, if it is a key component to make the pc boot, and test all of them.
