Question Pc randomly locks up when gaming

Jan 6, 2021
Pc locks up completely at random forcing me to reboot by holding the power button.

During gaming, doesnt matter what as long as its not some ancient game.

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 19042) (19041.vb_release.191206-1406)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97P-D3
BIOS: BIOS Date: 09/18/15 16:34:18 Ver: 04.06.05 (type: BIOS)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz ( Scythe Mugen V2 cooler and Noctua NT-H1 Paste)
Memory: Crucial Ballistics 16GB DDR3-1600MHz
GPU: iChill NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti X3 11GB (Noctua NT-H1 Paste)
Driver: 466.47 (install using DDU guide as usual)
Current Mode: 3440 x 1440 (32 bit) (75Hz) thru Displayport cable
Monitor: iiyama PL3493WQ
PSU: Seasonic Focus-GX 750W
OS SSD: Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB (96% on crystaldisk info)
Steam and games on SSD: SanDisk Ultra II 960GB (79% on crystaldisk info)

Gpu runs at the full +-1950Mhz and hits 85c at max
Cpu i have never seen above 50c, the mugen is an amazing cooler
Case temps and other sensors on the motherboard never go above 45c (HWinfo64)
I have 140mm noctua industrial fans. 2 intake 1 outtake.

I used to run a slight overclock in the cpu but removed it and have the same problems, now running default bios settings.
Windows and all other drivers are up-to-date, cant find anything newer, also rolled back the gpu drivers several times but did not change performance.
Had this problem for months now, reinstalling windows did not help, i also rebuilt and cleaned the entire pc. The gpu is using 2 seperate power cables as requested by the manual of the psu.

Out of options so asking for help, something is not right but i cant find anything out of order.
