Question PC randomly reboots after upgrade

Hi all, currently at my wits end with my PC and I believe I have exhausted my personal troubleshooting limits.

I upgraded my motherboard, CPU and RAM close to two months ago and have been subject to random reboots since. There is no blue screen or dump logs and it seemingly acts as if there is loss of power and boots up again shortly after.

The reboots are completely random and are not subject to the load of PC hardware and there can be periods of it happening multiple times within an afternoon or there can be two weeks before reboots (impossible to replicate so far.)

I'll list my current specs and try to list the steps I have attempted so far.

  • Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B650M-A WIFI II (new)
  • GPU: MSI GAMING X TRIO 2080 SUPER (old)
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 7600 (new)
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL36 DDR5 (new, post upgrade)
  • PSU: Equites V700 700W 80+ Bronze (new, post upgrade)
  • SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB (old)
vvv Troubleshooting so far vvv
  • CPU/Mobo sent back for testing: no faults found
  • RAM replaced after initial upgrade
  • PSU replaced after initial upgrade having suspected PSU fault
  • All benchmarking/stress tests that are possible (no issues and temps never close to limits)
  • Ran PC for extended time without USB devices
  • Removal of old hard drive and SSD
  • Clean reinstall of windows on M.2
  • Ran driver removal software and ensured clean install of all drivers
  • Combed through Event Viewer for any potential issues leading up to times of reboot (nothing before reboot, only Kernel Power warning after booting up indicating unexpected shutdown)
  • EXPO and PBO settings have no effect
  • Updated BIOS
  • Memtest and sfc scan

I'm very likely to have forgotten some things that I have tried but happy to answer any questions. I am on day 10 without reboot while running off iGPU with my 2080 removed but time hasn't been indicative of anything so far. I'm in no position to replace my GPU for the foreseeable future so I have left this for last.

Thanks for reading and hopefully someone may be able to offer some advice.

First thought, did you do a fresh install of windows when replacing all those parts.
second thought, you need a new PSU. The 2000 series GPU's have bad power spikes and your 2080 is tripping the power supply.

I had a EVGA 2080 ti on a EVGA 850w psu, during gamming my computer would just reboot out of no where, was like someone hit the rest button. I replaced it with a EVGA 1600w G2 i had laying around and the problem went away. For a 2080 i would look at a good 850W PSU or if you get a newer ATX3.0 PSU a 750w will do. The newer ATX 3.0 PSUs come with the 12+4 pin cable and are spec'd to handle the power spikes.
