Hi all,

I got a weird issue and I haven't got a clue what to do.

My PC randomly goes pitchblack and then reboots instantly. When restarting the windows loadingscreen takes up to 3 minutes, usually it only takes a few seconds. This issue happens when a play videogames and it occurs sometimes 3 or 4 times in a timespan of two hours, but sometimes it won't happen for a day. In the eventlog there is the critical error: Kernal power 41. Before the shutdown, there is also this error: MEIx64 -> Intel(R) Management Engine Interface driver has failed to perform handshake with the Firmware (FWSTS0: 0x1E000052, FWSTS1: 0x63000906). I ran MSI Afterburner to check the degrees and they never go over 55 degree Celsius (CPU and GPU)

My specs are:
CPU:
i5 3470 3.20 GHZ
GPU:
GTX 780
RAM:
8GB HyperX Beast
Motherboard:
MSI h77ma-g43
PSU:
Huntkey HK700-52PP 700W
HDD
500GB
SSD
128GB Corsair neutron
It runs on Windows 10

Does anyone have a solution?

Looking at the psu do i say look at that first, but if it's not is it possibly the gpu. Only way to know for sure it testing. Maybe you can test the gpu in a friends pc? Maybe there a local store which can help or a friends will help by lending his psu for testing.

Thanks for the idea, I'll try it asap.

I have tested with a different PSU and then with a different GPU (less powerful one, GTX 550 TI). Still got the same problem with shutting down and rebooting. I do need to point out that it only happens with CS:GO and not with other games (PUBG, Payday, Skyrim). I tried reinstalling CS;GO. but the same problem occurs. I still think it is a driver or software issue, but I already updated all the drivers and the BIOS. Do you another suggestion what to do next?

Also might not hurt to make sure your bios is updated to latest version. One of the recent versions updates the ME engine so it might be relevant. I'd also have suggested updating intel ME drivers but there don't seem to be any for win10, only for win 8.1. So hopefully bios update alone helps.
Make sure you follow msi's instructions on bios update. Doing this incorrectly can brick your board so be warned.
