PC Randomly Shutoff and Red Led Blinking-Won't Turn On

So my main gaming rig went out last night (Christmas, lol). So I was watching a you tube video and the machine just shutoff. The keyboard was flashing/blinking. I tried to turn it back on, but nothing happened. So I got down on my knees and noticed an led was flashing red, it normally is a steady red light. I am usually fairly good with diagnosing a pc no power problem, but I never seen a flashing red light and keyboard before. My specs are 16 gb ram, Z170 pro gaming aura motherboard with 650 watt psu 80+ gold, i7-7700K for CPU. GPU is 1080 Ti. I looked up my problem and found a thread here: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/301206-28-build-stand-motherboard-blinking?_ga=2.76177173.18516378.1545792338-1135048517.1529346693

I was following this thread, and I got to the point where I needed to breadboard and I had just the 24 pin connected like the thread says to do and still flashing red light. So I connected my psu that I got off of ebay that I don't know if it works or not (long story but I wont bore you with that). With that psu, the flashing red light goes away and is steady, but aura lights aren't on. However, when I try to boot the computer up (still breadboarded on the motherboard box), nothing happens when I press power button, so I connected the power button led from the case as well and still nothing. My cpu cable is plugged in at this point as well as cpu fan and 1 memory stick. I know psu's can still have correct volts but no load is going through meaning psu is bad, but I would have thought that the led power would still light up if that was the case. So I am fairly certain my old psu is bad but I don't know if my ebay psu is bad to dispite the fact it got rid of the flashing light or if my motherboard is bad even though the flashing went away? I am going to best buy tomorrow to get a new psu to try one more time, but if it results the same, then I am puzzled as to if another part is bad or not, or maybe some how its not my old psu? No beep codes that mean anything according to manual.

Thanks in advance for the help.

One thing to try is looking up the blink or beep codes. Try to listen for a beeping sound along with the blinking light. Once you know the pattern, such as ''long short short'' blinks with no tone, look up what blink codes your make and model PC can produce, and match the pattern. Then you should be able to see what is causing the error.

There is no beep codes as that would be one of my first things I would look up if I did hear beep codes. Since the led is solid red and not blinking with ebay psu, but aura lights aren't on, then maybe that psu isn't giving off quite enough power for the motherboard to beep? Typically, I think no beeps means bad motherboard, but in this case I don't quite know for sure.

Ya but it still doesn't give the aura lights either though, which isn't normal when I put the ebay psu in there that I am not for sure if works or not. So I think it might be more than just psu, both rather 2 parts going out at once, which I know is rare. I will look for code in the manual but last time I checked I didn't see any.

Update: I got a new psu from bestbuy that we know 100% works, and system still won't post. So I went and got a new motherboard, going to try that and also best buy said they can test my psu for free so I am going to have them test both my old psu and the ebay one just to make sure that one is bad and one is good of what I think. So I am pretty certain at least 2 parts went out at the same time.
