Heya guys. My PC has been shutting down randomly (while gaming) for like 2 months now. It shuts down instantly and then reboots. My temps are fine - CPU temps don't exceed 45°C, GPU 70°C.

It's weird, because all of my parts are relatively new (not older than 2 years) and everything was fine until now. I frequently maintain my PC (dust off every 3 months, clean Windows install every year). I don't get why does it happen so random - it crashed many times after like 5 minutes in PUBG main menu, sometimes after 2 hours of playing (PUBG), happened while playing Overwatch too, but for example it never happened while playing GTA V (5 hour or longer gaming sessions).

Tried updating all drivers I could, ran Malwarebytes, checked my cables, but nothing has helped. Here are my PC specs (no overclocks):
RAM: 16GB 2133Mhz (HyperX)
CPU: i5 6600K
GPU: MSI 1060 6GB
MOBO: Gigabyte Z170 Gaming K3
PSU: Corsair VS550, 550W
STORAGE: 1TB HDD, 256GB 2.5" SSD, Samsung 960 Evo (M.2 SSD)
SYSTEM: Windows 8.1 PRO

I suppose it's my PSU, because it gives me no errors or warnings, just shuts down... But I think 550W is enough for my system, so what could be the problem here?

Solution
VS is the lowest tier in the Corsair PSU Lineup , probably your issue , sounds power related. Upgrade to quality PSU.

Seems like a PSU problem, if it's still under warranty I would recommend performing an RMA on the PSU. I am saying this because I had a similar problem with my PC a few months ago, after owning the PSU for around 2 years, and worked fine after replacing the PSU.

My system build is completely different and the games I play are different, but behavior is similar. Only certain games cause my computer to completely power off instantly. PUBG and Escape from Tarkov do not cause issues. X-Plane 11 will consistently cause my PC to power off, but only in certain areas on the map. My guess at first is a processor cooling issue because X-Plane demands a lot more from multiple cores than the other two titles.

Please post results if you verify the fix for your situation.

My system:
RAM: 16 GB (4 x 4gb DDR3-1333)
CPU: AMD - FX-8370 4GHz 8-Core Processor
Video: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB FTW GAMING Video Card
Mobo: MSI - 990FXA-GD65 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
PSU: Corsair - CSM 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
