So i'm just gonna get straight to the point. My pc randomly shuts down when playing cpu and gpu intensive games.(battlefield 4,only when moving a lot). I already know that it's not the temps,i always have an a game overlay with all the temps and they are generally ok. I assume it shuts down because the gpu has a power drop/can't keep up. I will be upgrading in a month of 2,as soon as the gpu prices drop. But i still want to play some games until that. I just need some advice on what to do to reduce power consuption/make it not shut down. I have already set the max cpu state to 70% and i whouldn't like to go below that. Thanks in advance.

Solution
That's tough.

1) You might be able to use the AMD GPU Clock Tool to downclock the GPU and GPU RAM. Once downclocked, you might be able to lower the fan curve as well. I don't think you can put power draw limits on Radeon cards, but I've never tried.
2) If you have extra case fans you might be able to unplug them, but watch your temps.
3) Extra hard drives? Maybe disconnect any storage only drives you have.

I'm not sure if any of these will get you below the threshold. You definitely need a bigger PSU.
