Question PC Randomly Shutting Off

I want to preface this with the fact that I’m at my wits end.

Around January of this year, I decided to upgrade to the am5 platform and It’s been nothing but a nightmare since. 9 months later and my PC still intermittently shuts off without any warning with anywhere between a few days and a few months apart.

No blue screen, no stuttering or lag, nothing in event viewer (that I’ve noticed).

Replaced PSU, still happening, different outlet, still happening. Took it to a repair shop, they claimed they fixed the issue and charged me £150 (no fix no fee), still happening.

This is my last attempt at fixing the problem before I sell the parts with a disclaimer and buy a prebuilt.

Temps when;

Idle - 39-45
Browsing - 45-50
Stress Test - 75-79

Specs:

Ryzen 9 7900X
Asus X670-P
Corsair Vengeance 16gb x2
Gigabyte P1000GM
Asus RTX 3070

Windows 11 Pro

you don't mention the temperatures you're reaching anywhere.
include max temps while;
idle,
basic(browsing, etc),
and taxing(gaming, stress testing, heavy processing, etc).

these power supplies are not meant for gaming or other heavily stressed systems.
only for basic lower end builds.

what make/model were you using before you installed this?
Added temps, and before I moved up to AM5 I had an evga 750w bronze 80+ psu.. can’t remember exact model.

Have you tried updating the BIOS?

Is your RAM XMP or EXPO? I had issues using XMP in a Ryzen 7000 build, changed the RAM to EXPO and the issues were gone.
I haven’t tried updating the BIOS out of fear that it’ll die mid update, and my ram is xmp. I’ll try switching to expo in the morning as my pc is refusing to turn on at the moment.

Added temps
79° max isn't dangerous or enough to cause system malfunction.
so that should be fine.
had an evga...can’t remember exact model
model is a big deal.
almost all PSU manufacturers have put out at least a couple very low-end models.
Replaced PSU, still happening.
...before I moved up to AM5
you stated that you already replaced the PSU due to this issue you have been facing.

if this Gigabyte power supply is the only model that this system has seen while the issue occurs then i would be leaning towards it as a major possible candidate/cause.

As long as you don't lose power during a BIOS update, the system shouldn't just die mid update. That said, my issues with XMP all started when I wanted a later BIOS version than what my motherboard had shipped with.

I made a post explaining the issues I had...all of which went away once I got a kit of faster EXPO https://forums.tomshardware.com/thr...e-because-of-xmp-ram-on-amd-platform.3807641/

Assuming that the psu is the issue, what would you recommend as a replacement? There are quite a few out there and I don’t have the foggiest.
