Specs:
Ryzen 7 3800x
Asus crosshair hero 7
Samsung 970 evo m.2 500gb
Adata 256gb sdd (dont remember which one)
Samsung 860 evo 1tb

After a running out of space I installed the adata, had zero problems. 6 months later I needed more so I used an 860 evo that had been sitting around unused. Right after install it stopped recognizing my m.2 and tried booting from one of the two standard ssd's. I solved this by unplugging the samsung, booting to windows on the m.2, shutting down and reinstalling the samsung. Worked normal for a month.

2nd time it happened was yesterday but after restarted it fixed itself.

Now its the 3rd time this is happened and I know unplugging the samsung ssd will fix it but I want to find an actual solution to the issue at hand.

Tldr: newly installed 860 evo ssd is causing computer to not recognize my original 970 evo that I use for boot, therefore I cannot boot unless I unplug the 860 evo.

Is there a long term solution to this issue? Or do I just have to get a new ssd because this 860 evo is a dud?
