Good day, sorry for a long wall of text, but this way I just wanted to make sure I provided as much insight as possible as im seeking help with a couple of concerns, so I'd appreciate some advise with both of the concerns besides what i had already mentioned as tried. Wasn't sure where to create this thread but having it under PSU due to it likely related to power seems to be more accurate.

My PC Specs are:

MSI Gaming Desktop / Aegis RS 13NUF-439US / Intel Core i7 13th Gen 13700KF (3.40GHz)
Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI - https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/PRO-Z790-P-WIFI
RAM 32GB DDR5 / ADATA XPG GAMMIX D10 32GB (4x8GB) DDR5 4800Mhz CL40 1.1V AX5U4800C408G-BB10
2 TB PCIe SSD / 3 TB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti
Windows 11 Home or Pro 64-bit
CORSAIR RMX Series™ RM850x 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

Issues:

This is a brand new prebuilt desktop I got which I've replaced its "High Power 750W 80 Gold" PSU with CORSAIR RMX Series™ RM850x 80 Plus Gold prior turning it on for the first time and all is fine. I'd guess PSU is likely totally fine, but thought to point that out.

All works fine, but my main two issues are that - 1ST - I am unable to wake my desktop up with my mice & keyboard regardless of what buttons I click on and what USB ports (2.0 / 3.0) they are connected to, not a mice nor keyboard issue as they work elsewhere.

And the 2ND issue is that while PC is in sleep mode it can occasionally wake itself up, but it literally wakes up for like 5 seconds before going back to sleep on its own again. The monitor is not even quick enough to react to the tower waking up, so its like the tower wakes up and then 3-5 secs later goes back to sleep. I've experienced it turn on/off about 2-3 times in an 8 hours test meaning I had the PC in sleep mode for 8hrs and it woke itself up then went back to sleep 5 secs after, so it woke up about 3 times in 8hrs.

So since I cannot wake it up with mice/keyboard I would need to press the power button on the tower manually to wake it up, so I could use it and it wakes up properly that way, tower and the monitor both come on and i can use my pc normally.

I had the same issue on my old computer long time ago and I think someone told me i needed to change something in the power settings or even a reg edit some for it to stop waking up as there could be some program or a proccess in the background that is trying to wake it up and so I changed something and it fixed it, but no clue what i did years ago.

I have also used the -lastwake command that should tell me what woke it up, but it found nothing. Tried 3 times and cannot detect what did it. It detects a wake up, but no details.

C:\Windows\System32>powercfg/lastwake
Wake History Count - 1
Wake History [0]
Wake Source Count - 0

Drivers for both mice/key all fine

power options are set how they should be, but below is what i did / tried..

Step 1) Allow your keyboard and mouse to wake up your PC - done
Step 2) Allow computer to sleep in multimedia settings - done
Step 3) Restore power options to default if above didnt help - done
powercfg –restoredefaultschemes - done
Restart computer - done
Step 4) Run power Troubleshooter - done
msdt.exe /id PowerDiagnostic - done
Restart computer - done
Step 5) Enable Sleep in Power Options - done
Restart the computer - done - done
Step 6) Restore Power plan settings to default - done

at this point im not sure why this is happenning, but if maybe someone did run into this and could suggest anything else I'd appreciate cause I mean all works fine I have no issues with anything, keaybord, mice etc..... its just annoying that my pc wakes up from sleep on its own as well as I cannot wake it up the mice/keybord way and have to press the power button to wake it up....

but ya, any other suggestions be apprecaited.

Thank you

I've found the issue and resolved it, so sharing just in case anyone else faces the same problems with being unable to have your mice/keyboard wake computers up from sleep. Wish I had tried that earlier, but I mean that shouldn't be something anyone should be expected to be doing on a brand new out of box computer, especially if a person is not tech savvy.

It turned out that for whatever reason the last 3 options u see on below screenshot were disabled in BIOS by default under "Setup Wake Up Configuration" on my Motherboard: MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI that I repeat is a new pre-built computer that I shouldn't even be doing anything to as it all should've worked by default out of the box, especially the most basic and most commonly used practices of being able to simply wake your pc up from sleep using keyboard/mice....

So I had to set "Resume by USB Device" to ENABLED; set "Resume From S3/S4/S5 by PS/2 Mouse" to ENABLED; and set "Resume From S3/S4/S5 By PS/2 Keyboard" to ANYKEY" and I am now able to wake my tower up using mice & keybord normally. If in your case BIOS shows all is enabled as it should be and you are facing the same issue then do the basic troubleshooting i had to do in my original post above.

P.S As for PC waking up from sleep on its own i think I might have found what it was caused by as I found a Wake Source be "S4 Doze to Hibernate", so just now will need to investigate on that etc.

This is now resolved.
