[SOLVED] PC rebooting itself while gaming , Dual 12V rail PSU problem?

Hi everyone and thanks for reading.

I bought a new Gigabyte RX580 2 weeks ago https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-RX580GAMING-8GD-rev-10-11-12#kf , it been working great, but 3 times my pc did shut down while i was playing , i figured that it was my PSU because i think it's pretty short on power, even though the wattage is above the recommended by the manufacturer.


Before all, here are My PC specifications:

-GPU Gigabyte RX580 8Gb . https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-RX580GAMING-8GD-rev-10-11-12#kf

-The PSU in question is http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/extreme/extreme-power-plus-600w/ which is a Dual-rail (and 4 years-old) PSU.

-Intel-Core i5 3570k @3,80 (stock, can't OC it anyways because my MB)

-8 Gb RAM DDR3 (4x2 Kingston Hyper-X)


-1x SATA 1tb HDD WD Blue. 1x Seagate HDD 1tb. 1x SSD Kingston A400 120gb.









I been reading about Dual rail PSUs, and this one has 18A on each 12V rail , which means 216 watts (i think?)


I used GPU-Z and Rivatuner to monitor the power drawn, and it was around 150-170 watts max. which is dangerously close to 216 watts.


Don't know if that 70% efficency applies to this number as well, because 216 x 0,70 = 151w. and that would be under the power drawn by the RX580.


So yeah, the question is : Can't this PSU handle the rx580 because it's dual-rail architecture? i guess the RX580 cant draw power from both rails if there isn't enough power in one rail, right?


The PSU has 2x PCI-e 6+2-pin connectors, i can try to switch cables and use the other one, or it won't make any difference?


also, i can buy this PSU in a few days once i get enough money, it's $91 here in my country (ouch)https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=100-B1-0600-KR


it has 49A on it's single 12v rail, which shouldn't give any problems, i guess.

if is there a better PSU choice for around that price, please let me know.
