Question PC recognize Ryzen 3600 as 2600

i swapped my old ryzen 2600 for a new 3600 and bios still says it is a 2600 installed, even shows the same mhz as 2600 i even double checked so i didnt put my old cpu back in the pc. i tried updating both motherboard and cpu drivers but still nothing. Anyone?

gtx 1070

i already have the newest bios. so that is not the problem

Have you tried to reset the CMOS after installing the 3600?

EDIT: Just tried resetting cmos and nothing changed.

Fake 3600 processors exist.
Perhaps " friend" bought one.

Who said it was a 3600? What does the print on the cpu say it is?

I'd be more inclined to believe the 'friend' was confused about what he was selling you, than a fake cpu, but bios will read correctly as that cpu-id info is hard-coded into the cpu and not subject to change by any outside of intel/amd.

Outside can be faked, not the inside. And if 'friend' sold you a 2600 knowing it was a 2600 but claimed it was a 3600, I'd not be 'friend' for long.
