PC repeatedly turns off and back on after installing second stick of RAM

I previously had 1 stick of RAM (8GB DDR3 1600Hz) and had no issue with it. Today, I bought a new CPU, SSD, and 8GB of RAM and put all 3 new components in at once and tried booting it up, and the fans began spinning, but it never made it to POST.

I took out the SSD and the same thing happened, so I took out the new stick and it worked fine (ruling out the possibility of a CPU malfunction). So I tried it with just the new stick in the slot, and again, got to POST just fine (ruling out the possibility of a faulty stick of RAM ).

However, now when i try it with both sticks, it starts up, runs for about two seconds, and then shuts off, waits about two seconds, and tries to start up again, which yields the same results, never once POSTing.

After doing some research, most people have said the solution is to up the voltage, but it seems like that could really mess something up if I don't know what I'm doing. Does anyone have any solutions?

Thank you

what is your full build? what is the part number on the old and new ram?

chances are you have a ram timing or other compatablity issue and why most people recommend buying memory in matched sets. because even two single sticks from different lots but same part number can have timing issues with eachother.

There shouldn't be any incompatibility with the RAM sticks, they are both identical.

What is that and how do I do it?

You need to do that anyhow with a CPU change.

The CPU is working fine. I'm using the PC right now with both the CPU and the SSD in it.

If that fails remove one stick of memory boot into BIOS increase the memory voltage by 0.02 volts save and exit, shut down and install the other stick.

Will try in the morning if need be.

You still need to reset CMOS for the hardware change its in the motherboard manual how to do it.
