Sometimes, after some hours of playing demanding games like Metro : Exodus and The Witcher 3. My PC just randomly restart to bios spash screen. After digging into Windows Event Viewer, it only reports code 41 with no follow up codes.

I observe this behavior only happens when a game is using maximum amount of power for my CPU and GPU, 100 watt on GPU and 40 watt CPU.

After my system restarted, i launched my game again and i still able to play it normally. i did not instantly restarted. My guess its either power supply or my motherboard but i don't have spare PSU or MB to test this.

Why is this happening?

My CPU temps when playing demanding games is 72°C and my GPU is 70°C. And they are not overcloked, only little bit undervolted.

My PC Specs :
CPU : Ryzen 5 5600G
GPU : Asrock RX6600
MB : Asrock B450M-HDV R4.0
RAM : Apacer NOX DDR4 3200mhz 8x2
PSU : Coolermaster MWE 550watt bronze
OS : Windows 11

Hey there,

Error 41 means your CPU lost power. Given this happens at load and restarts, it points to the PSU.

Have you another you could try? If not maybe a friend could lend you one. You could also bring it to local repair store and get them to test the PSU, and swap it out.

Maybe i will try to bring my PC to a local repair shop first. Reputable PC repair shops are hard to find near my area, only small no name ones but they still have some reviews on google maps.

Since it only happens when i play high demanding games for a while, is it possible that my PSU is getting too hot? and what component will break if i let this keeps happening?

I am afraid the repair cost will be too expensive. If it cost like half of my PSU, i rather but a new PSU and test it my self.

HOt, maybe. It's likely one of the overprotection's are being tripped.

This is another solution.

When raining, a part of my electricity circuit in my house that handles all of my power outlet excluding lights, and ACs got tripped because an unknown cable got wet. this happen quite often especially on prolonged rain.

Its possible that this is the beginning of my problem.

Error 41 just means system has been restarted without shutting it down first.
It says nothing about reason causing it.

Restart can be caused by
BSOD (drivers or hardware issue),
unstable power delivery from grid,
overheating (this usually causes power off, not restart),
PSU protections kicking in (also power off, not restart).

Get an electrician to come in and fix that before you get something worse to happen like a fire.

my "restore on AC power loss" bios settings has been set to Turned OFF. So a power loss from the grid should cause my PC to power off completely not restart.

after little bit of digging, this error code 41 always happens after "File System Filter 'npsvctrig' (10.0, ‎1979‎-‎12‎-‎19T23:12:41.000000000Z) has successfully loaded and registered with Filter Manager."

That is just an information message.
System gets started.
And then it detects - system was not shut down properly before.
