Question PC restarting randomly when PSU is upgraded to higher wattage

Jun 8, 2020
Intial Config

Intel i5 6500
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming Mobo
Kingston HyperX Fury 2133ghz 8gb x 2
Samsung Evo 128gb SSD
iBall 250w PSU

Replaced the PSU with a CoolerMaster MWE White 550w
to connect by GPU

Issue - PC restarts randomly even at bios
When connected with iBall 250w, ran memtest64, cpu burn test etc PC ran for hours without restart.

Service center told it might be due to a faulty motherboard.

Bought a new Gigabyte GA H110M - H board -> PC restarting again when connected with 550w PSU :(

Cooler Master PSU runs fine with my older i3 530, Intel DH55TC board + Zotac GTX 950 2gb build

Can a faulty CPU cause random restarts? Why everything runs fine with a lower watt SMPS like iBall?

Its more like a puzzle for me :(
