I've had a certain problem going on with my computer for a while now. Whenever I start playing any sort of game, no matter how demanding, the PC will inevitably restart itself. The issue doesn't seem to be overheating since I replaced the stock CPU fan and the problem persists. In fact, now the computer will restart itself if I merely watch videos fullscreen for a certain amount of time.

Judging from a friend's experience we think the problem might be the PSU but neither of us are too sure. The PSU does make a lot more noise nowadays than when I first bought it, though. I was hoping someone here might be able to help me. Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Specs:
Windows 7 64-bit SP1
AMD Phenom II X4 925 Processor
8G DDR3
Corsair TX750 V2 750W ATX12V v2.31 PSU
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 GPU

You can test the PSU with a multimeter (There are many guides on the internet) or you could buy a PSU tester.

I'd make sure it's definitely not a overheating issue too. Have you installed CoreTemp and actually logged the temperatures of your CPU?

I highly doubt it's overheating. Right now I'm averaging about 34-37C, with a rough bump to 42-44C while a game is active. Before the upgrade it was usually stuck around 50-55C. The GPU's temperature is a consistent 60C or so.
