don't feel bad tradesman1 and I answer a lot on this with older boards and todays memory not compatible --
If you are talking about a single stick of 4GB, it should work flawlessly, unless it is faulty, your BIOS settings are wrong, or if you are using a wrong RAM slot.

First, reset your BIOS settings, either via CLR_CMOS jumper or removing and putting back the mobo battery after half a minute or so (do it with PC unplugged from the wall).

Try again. If the problem persists, maybe you are using a wrong slot. When a single memory module is used, there is one dedicated memory slot for it. Your mobo manual says which one - it is often the one closest to the CPU. If not, try the one farthest from it.

i tried swapping places from slot 1 to slot 2 still wont work , when i install the new ram it just wont get past the memory testing or something like that .Maybe i could ask for a refund and buy a new one

What model of Kingston? I would guess a newer model (post 2010) made with high density memory chips. Pre 2011 DDR3 was made with low density chips (which is what the H55/P55 mobos were designed for, so basically it's a non compatibility issue. For your mobo the older NT seroies of Value DRAM from GSkill, made with the older low density memory chips can still be found i.e. NewEgg. I'd try those.

Can i return it and ask for a replacement for those that you mentioned

ya you would think ? some of the sticks that ''were'' still available are now gone out of stock so I guess then the end was near ,but it now maybe the end is here , and time to buy a more today computer that fully compatible with todays parts ??

I guess old stock only lasts so long then it too late
