PC restarts randomly even after a psu replacement? Should I buy a new motherboard?

PC restarts randomly during high intensity or a bit of gaming even after a psu replacement? With the new PSU it simply has a higher threshold for reboots.

Should I buy a new motherboard?

I'll also add that over time the pc would never fully shut off. I'd shut it off, then turn it back on later and it would immediately reopen everything as if it never turned off. Just in case that can point to a certain issue.

Not yet, do some troubleshooting first:

1) If anything is overclocked, reduce to default clock speed and safe voltages. Test.

2) If still crashes, Check temperatures (immediately after crashing) of the following and compare to established safe levels: mobo, RAM, gtx 980, CPU. If any of these are overheating, find out why and fix/replace.

3) If none are overheating, strip your system to absolute bare minimum: mobo (at default clock speed if was overclocked), 1 stick of RAM, onboard video, boot from Hiren's BootCD to avoid using SSD or HD,
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/ . Run system tests, if it crashes with this bare-minimum configuration then most likely the mobo is the main suspect.

4) If it doesnt crash, add 1 component, re-run the test until it crashes, there's your problem component. If doesn't crash, take out that component, put in 1 other one and re-test until it crashes. Repeat one by one until you've found the bad one.

Tested it with onboard graphics and one stick of ram. It didn't crash, though it performed like crap of course. Once I enabled the GPU it eventually crashed after a little bit in game. Does that mean it's a gpu issue, or could that simply mean the GPU demands more from the motherboard causing it to have more of an issue?
