my pc keeps restarting randomly while i'm working (no heavy stuff in general) and when it tries to boot up again it gets to the screen with the windows logo, then my pc beeps again and reboots once more. Sometimes the screen just goes black and the fan starts to spin up faster and slower regularly. In these cases there's a red light on the mobo just near the ram (i believe it's the MemOK led).

The restarts can happen every 5-10 minutes but i notice that if i unplug the current and let my pc rest for a bit the restarts don't occur for generally 2-3 days.

Now, i did memtest86 to check the RAM, run prime95 for the CPU, fed some test renders on my GPU and checked the capacitors on my mobo and everything looks fine.

Can the PSU be the problem?

my rig:

CPU: i7 4770
GPU: Nvidia gtx 970
RAM: kingston genesis 2x4 GB 1600GHz
MOTHERBOARD: asus h97pro
PSU: Corsair cx600 600W 80 plus
I use a UPS.

If someone is willing to help me, thanks in advance!

It's an AMI BIOS model, and it's just one short beep. Not sure it's a specific code though since it sounds exactly the same as the beep i hear when i normally turn on the computer.
So the sequence is: *beep* > asus logo > windows loading > black screen > *beep* > asus logo > windows loading > and then it works.

Also i forgot to mention that when i get black screen with the fans spinning i hear no beeps.

Ok, so i replaced my PSU with a beautiful Seasonic Focus+ 750W 80+ Gold. About a week has passed and the computer have never rebooted ever since. So yes, it was the PSU. Problem solved!
