Hi there.

I just helped a friend assemble a new computer.
The problem is that it keeps restarting after a while of gaming.
I thought it could be the PSU, so he bought a new one and it did not help.
I have updated all drivers for the motherboard and the GPU. I also did a bios update. I did a stresstest on the ram. The temperatures when gaming never reached 75c, but i dont know when the computer restarts. It has the intel stock cooler.
All parts are new except the GPU wich is an older one, but the previously owner never had a problem with it.

I suspect it either could be the motherboard or maybe the cpu gets too hot with the stock cooler. Do any of you guys know what could be the problem?

i3 9100f
MSI h310 pro m2 plus
Evga GTX 970
8 gb g. skill 3000hz ram
Corshair 650w psu
240gb ssd m.2

When my old PC did this, it was the CPU temperature. I applied new thermal paste and it solved the issue.
I dont remember if everytime there was BSOD though. but as your system is new, i believe so is the thermal paste. Or maybe it uses thermal pad?
anyway stock cooler with no overclock should be more than enough for cooling.

It's a new build with new parts, so I don't think it is the thermal paste. Do you know at what tempature a CPU would automatically restart the computer?
