when i play Halo Infinite for like half an hour my pc restarts, but this doesn't happen when i play games like War Thunder, Kingdom Come, Halo MCC (but do get some micro stutters), and Genshin Impact.

Specs:
ryzen 3 3200g (supports 2933mhz but running at 3200mhz)
ram 3200mhz 8*2 t force vulcan
msi b450m a pro max
asus dual rx6600
psu corsair vs550

here's the things i have tried:
temps: the cpu temps under load is around 60-65c which looks fine for gpu it's always around 50's
drivers: all the drivers are up to date

addition:
when i try stress test software like prime95 it works
but furmark and the pc restarts immediately
and when i checked logs i found this critical level event "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

is this a windows, psu or cpu issue because my cpu tends to hit 100 utilisation when playing AAA games or unoptimized games ?

thanks

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

How old is the PSU in your build?

ryzen 3 3200g (supports 2933mhz but running 3200mhz)
How are you cooling your processor?

msi b450m a pro max
What BIOS version are you currently on for your motherboard?

thanks for replying

-i got the PC like last week, maybe it's new I'm not sure.

How are you cooling your processor?
-the stock cooler, I've monitored the temps it's mostly under 70 when playing games.

What BIOS version are you currently on for your motherboard?
-E7C52AMS.A00

additionally i'm on windows 11 and the motherboard is msi b450m a pro max (ii) idk if ii makes difference, also i'm running my pc without ups and only surge protector.

Generally, when I hear "PC restarts while gaming", the first thing I blame is an underpowered PSU. Corsair is a respected PSU brand, but you might just be pushing to close to the PSUs capacity while gaming.
so is 550w not good enough for r5 3600 and rx6600 and should i get a 650w one?

You say you got the pc a week ago. Did you build it or buy it pre-built? If pre-built then the builder should be fixing this.
Its not about the total wattage, is about the quality and the good health of it.

And is it a Ryzen 3 3200g, or a Ryzen 5 3600 ?, your first post points out R3 3200g
sorry for not clarifying i currently have a 3200g and will be replacing it with a 3600, but even with 3200g/r5 3600 rx 6600 the wattage should be around 300w and i have decided to replace the power supply.

I wasn’t saying above that your gpu was at fault. I would lean towards the power supply. What I was meaning to say is that as your gpu gets going it’s probably wanting more power from your power supply which the power supply may not be able give, at least not for long periods, and that the power supply could just be shutting off.

I do agree with the other posters though, try to get a higher quality power supply with more wattage if you can. Better to start with a power supply that you know is good from the start.

idk the problem is gone i can play again without pc shutting down but i'll replace it just in case it fails again

Could also be as heat issue then. Way back in the early 2000s when power supplies were almost all top mounted, I had a power supply that unless I kept an exhaust fan under it to move air out of the case, my system would shut off similar to yours.
sorry for the late reply, I think its the smp and i'll get it replaced soon.

It's likely not the direct problem, but since you just went with the cheap PSU that the previous owner put in, as another precaution I'd ask: did you freshly install Windows 11? You should never be using an OS install from a previous owner.
thanks for replying, it's the smp from the looks of it and i'll get it replaced soon.
