People seem to think is a power supply problem, but this one is less than a year old. Also it should be putting out more than enough juice.

The screen just goes black then a normal startup

+Mortherboard had ethernet port go out recently maybe that's a problem?

Have you checked the event viewer? Recreate the crash, login, check event viewer - should tell you what's causing the fault.

You should check your temps.I doubt it but CPU or GPU could be getting too hot.

Finally - if you had an integrated port on your mobo fail that's never a good sign. If it's still under warranty I would get a replacement ASAP.

Haven't gotten the chance to run memtest yet but I checked the logs and this is in order withen 20seconds
-Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (2) I218-V
Network link is disconnected.
-Intel(R) Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter
Network link is disconnected.
-The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&2.
-Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0

then finally

-The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Very odd pattern
Same 3 warnings then error then crash over and over

It'd probably be the best if you ran through the whole situation with us before selecting a best answer. If that isn't what solved it, it wouldn't be good for someone who has the same problem as you to think that's the answer and it really isn't.

Sorry didn't even realise I selected it. Fixed now.

Update:
Stress tested Mem, CPU, and GPU
all passed with ease when playing in game I hit a max of 45c so items isn't a problem.
I feel like it also cannot be the PSU because it's less than a year old and also an 860 platinum. Which is more than enough to power everything and more.

ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&2.The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\PNP0A0A\2&daba3ff&2.

This error comes up with Asus mobos (i found this out after a quick google) - I would try reinstalling the chipset drivers for your motherboard - update the bios as well.

well apparently my 80 platinum power supply was the cause. out of the blue.
Yesterday it just stopped I replaced it with with an old one, and problem solved.

FYI this definitely relates in some situations to things other than PSU. I'm running 9900k @5.1GHz on Asus Maximus XI Hero with 2 RTX 2080Ti's NVLink with each at +143 MHz core / +700 MHz memory. Have passed benchmarks stress tests but I get random restarts when playing over my home theater. Works fine on computer at 4k144 with Dolby Atmos for headphones / Displayport / on HDMI to the receiver for home theater it restarts randomly. My living room is on 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos / 4k60 projector. I enable Dolby Atmos for home theater when I play there most the time, but have tried 7.1 and still get the restarts.

I recently went from a Seasonic Prime Ultra 1000W to a Corsair /AX1600i PSU so I'm quite certain the issue for me is urelated to PSU.

Appreciate any ideas that might be out there that could get my couch gaming functional again!
